T.E.C. is a co-curricular activity after-school for technology-geared students to acquire knowledge, acumen and hands-on experience in computer technology not covered in the standardized Grades 5-8 classroom curriculum.
Students will be (1) employed to become Student Lab Assistants during “Open Lab” times on a rotating and posted schedule by the Computer Technology instructor / T.E.C. facilitator; (2) engage in special guest-sponsored workshops/lectures conducted at the school; (3) exposed to hardware & software troubleshooting for school-wide use as needed; (4) assist in creating the “MMR Tech/Cyber Circle” with two other Catholic elementary schools in another part of the country; and (5) exclusively invited to participate in, at least two technology-related field trips scheduled on Saturdays in the autumn and spring (additional student/parental cost involved).
All T.E.C. meetings will take place after-school from 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM in the Computer Lab unless otherwise announced.
(*Meeting dates are subject to change based upon the availability of T.E.C.’s Faculty Coordinator. Every effort will be made to announce changes in advance of the date.)
