In catholic school classrooms and religious education programs, nearly 80,000 students and their families encounter the Catholic Church – which often marks their first introduction to Jesus. To deepen this education mission and work to connect it to parish life, we intend to add full-time missionaries to work in our grade and high schools to strengthen Catholic identity, help students and families become missionary disciples, and guide them toward a deeper encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist. We will also add dedicated development directors to schools without full-time staff in this role and support existing directors with enhanced training and resources to ensure financial sustainability and foster mission-driven stewardship. These leaders will secure vital funding sources, including Educational Improvement Tax Credits and other tuition assistance programs, to make Catholic education accessible to more families.Learn more about the proposed initiatives of the Archdiocesan planning study in this weekend’s bulletin.
