How can we experience the richness of our faith? One way is to understand the seven themes of modern Catholic Social Teachings and the values that encompass them. Whether you make casseroles for a homeless shelter, raise money for clean drinking water, or offer loving counsel to a woman with an unplanned pregnancy, the basis of each action is the same—the dignity of the human person.
“Every human being is created in the image of God and redeemed by Jesus Christ, and therefore is invaluable and worthy of respect as a member of the human family. Every person, from the moment of conception to natural death, has inherent dignity and a right to life consistent with that dignity.” (US Conference of Catholic Bishops)
We would like to propose a Catholic Social Teaching Committee for our parish. Monthly meetings to include discussions, presentations, and other activities related to the seven themes of Catholic Social Teachings will help us live the Word in Matthew 25:40 - “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."
If you are being called to get involved, please contact JoAnne Higgins at joannehigg115@gmail.com.

Water is Essential to Life! Walking for Clean Water!
The Catholic Social Teaching Committee is joining the Wednesday Evening 4th Grade PREP class in living out the Corporal Work of Mercy to Give Drink to the Thirsty. Nearly one billion people do not have access to clean, safe water - that's 1 in every 8 people on the planet! Clean water is essential for good health, improved education, to grow food and to end poverty.
