  Recreational Cheer-leading:
  Also known as Sideline cheer-leading for basketball games in the Winter season. Open to 1st-8th grade girls, with practices at Corpus on Wednesday evenings. The Spring session is a Cheer Basics Clinic to introduce and build stronger technique in the fundamentals of sideline cheer leading.
  Athletes register by September 15th.

  CYO Basketball Season:
  First and foremost, thank you to everyone that volunteered their time last year. As always, we need parents to volunteer to coach in order for the program to be successful. Based on the #'s last year, we are expecting to have at least 11-12 teams this year for JV and Varsity in 5th-8th grade.
  
  This will also be the first year we enter MMR into the Region 20, 4th grade division. We are expecting an additional 3-4 teams for that grade alone but can only make that happen if we have enough parents to step up and coach.
  
  Registration opens Monday, September 9th and closes end of October. Evaluations for the 4 Region 20 South Teams will be the first week of November. The remaining players will have an additional evaluation the following week to split up the remaining teams that will enter the Region 20 North division.

  CYO Mission Statement and Philosophy: CYO sports is one component of a parish’s comprehensive youth ministry program which enables the partnership of parents, coaches, priests, religious, teachers, and adult leaders to manage and support a sports program that allows youth to grow in their relationship with God and come to better understand themselves and the Catholic faith.
  
  Youth play sports because it’s fun; youth leave organized sports because it’s not fun—it’s that simple.
