Fall 2020 Adult Faith Formation Studies
MMR Book Club
This fall the MMR book club will embark on a 12 week study of the life and thought of St. Augustine (354 - 430). Augustine is widely considered the most influential theologian in the history of Christianity after Paul, and his writings have been influential in shaping Western thought and culture in many areas of knowledge, from psychology to cosmology to the present day! We will begin by reading Augustine of Hippo: A Life (Oxford U. Press 2010 ) by the highly regarded church historian Henry Chadwick. Following that, we will tackle Augustine’s best known book The Confessions (more information to follow).

Ananias Training
Inspired by the important role Ananias played in St. Paul's journey to Christ, Ananias Training will help to form parishioners in "the art of spiritual accompaniment," specifically focusing on the thresholds of conversion, identifying these thresholds in the journey of another, and how to have a threshold conversation. The goal is to form people equipped to be Ananias to one another in the Church and world, within the context of one's own spiritual gifts and personal vocation.
In person: Wednesdays 10/28-11/18, John Paul II Room, 6:30-8pm.
In person: Thursdays 10/29-11/19, John Paul II Room, 10-11:30am. Cost: $15
